Fort Pulaski

So often we tend to delay visiting the most accessible place, thinking that it is too convenient - only to realise subsequently that there is not enough time any more. After toying with the idea of visiting Fort Pulaski for some time, we finally make a trip just in case we miss the chance forever. It is definitely worth a visit.
Some quick facts. It was built over 30 years but defeated in 30 hours in 1862 by the uninist. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism first set foot in the New World then on Peacock island (??) where Fort Pulaski is situated about 200 years ago.

This is one of the moat that surrounds the very well maintained Fort Pulask National Monument. I am the figure on the bottom right of the picture.
This one of the cannons emplaced to defend the entrance into Savannah River.
And of course, how can we not have a picture of baby too tired after a day trip.
